Yet Will I Sing

I was on a walk today, ear buds tucked into my ears, when this song came on. I listened to the words differently than I ever have before. It spoke into this deep, empty space within me. My arms got goosebumps. The wind blew, and I found myself in the presence of God again.

I wanted to share it with you. It's a beautiful song. And oh the words, I want that for my own heart. The prayer and choice of my heart is that I will yet sing.

Cause I know, God, whatever you do,
you do through the eyes of mercy.

I will still believe...

This song has been on repeat for me the past couple days. I'm clinging to these words, in the midst of a rather rough weekend. I'm choosing to still believe... even when I cannot see.

Choosing this, in the midst of pain and even a numbness of heart, is always the hardest choice I have to make.

But that is what faith is. And I know I want real faith. I don't want to fall away when the darkness comes.

Do You Know the Way You Move Him?

This song.

Sometimes I come to it when I'm feeling empty. Or lost or alone.

And I was sitting on my bed last night, feeling so
weighed down.

Despairing.

Then I sat and listened.

Giving my heart to the rise and fall of the music and those beautiful words.

And I sobbed and cried until snot ran down,
this broken mess,
getting a glimpse of the

weight

He

feels for me.

And I'm set free by his love that sees me through and through.
Set free from every darkness within and around me.

Even if I can't feel that love. Even if I've forgotten its existence. Even if I've lost sight of it and stopped feeding myself with it. Even if I'm lost in self absorption.

It's real and thick in the blessings - and trials - around me.

This weight of love, this God who is so in love with me. . . He's all I need.

[He's] Never Gonna Leave Me Dry

You’re never gonna leave me dry
No You don’t
No You don’t
No You don’t
You’re always willing
My cup You’ll be filling
He's never going to leave me dry, leave me in the dust, covered in ashes. He won't leave me in my despair, my human hopelessness, my wounds throbbing.

He is
always

willing.

To fill me up with himself, with the Spirit, with his plentiful redemption and offered forgiveness.

He gives us beauty for gray ashes. Sweet oil for mourning. And water for the thirst built into our hearts. He will not leave us on the ground, fallen on the road, stuck in a cruel rut. He picks us up and walks beside us, that we may lean on him for the
long
road
ahead.

How can I resist? How can I refuse his presence, shove away his outstretched arm? How can I try to do it on my own, when I stumble every other step and taste the crumbling dirt on my tongue?

Why would I try to do it on my own, when he is
always
willing?

"I've Got A Reason To Dance"

I love this, from Footloose. It makes me want to dance and not give one thought to how I look. To just grin and jump around and bathe in freedom and joy. To be a maniac. To live.

And this one too. To dance for my King and be ravished by his love, to taste his joy and sunlight and look forward to Heaven. Look ahead. I can't wait!

I Want To Know You

This is my prayer.

Sorry, you may not want to take the time to listen to this. And I know it won't, if you do take the time, be the same for you as it was for me. I feel the Holy Spirit so close in Jesus Culture songs. And after Acquire the Fire, my heart yearns for that. Because now I've had a taste, and I only hunger for more.

But this song is . . . sweet.

I want my heart to speak this out.

I pray God would be near to you through it.
Close, with his presence overtaking your heart.

The Fragrance of Your Name

How you just walk into the room.

I know what that feels like.

I don't deserve that.
But he gave it to me anyways.
Out of his great mercy.

Arms Wide Open.

That song is on here.
This part starts around ten minutes.

And hey, these are the words.
The beautiful words.

“What does love look like?” is the question I’ve been pondering
“What does love look like?”
“What does love look like?” is the question I’ve been asking of You

I once believed that love was romance, just a chance
I even thought that love was for the lucky and the beautiful
I once believed that love was a momentary bliss
But love is more than this
All You ever wanted was my attention
All You ever wanted was love from me
All You ever wanted was my affections, to sit here at Your feet

Then I sat down, a little frustrated and confused
If all of life comes down to love
Then love has to be more than sentiment
More than selfishness and selfish gain

And then I saw Him there, hanging on a tree, looking at me
I saw Him there, hanging on a tree, looking at me
He was looking at me, looking at Him, staring through me
I could not escape those beautiful eyes
And I began to weep and weep

He had arms wide open, a heart exposed
Arms wide open; He was bleeding, bleeding

Love’s definition, love’s definition was looking at me
Looking at Him, hanging on a tree
I began to weep and weep and weep and weep

This is how I know what love is, this is how I know what love is

And as I sat there weeping, crying
Those beautiful eyes, full of desire and love

He said to me, “You shall love Me, You shall love Me
You shall love Me, You shall love Me”

With arms wide open, a heart exposed
With arms wide open, bleeding, sometimes bleeding

If anybody’s looking for love in all the wrong places
If you’ve been searching for love, come to Me, come to Me
Take up your cross, deny yourself
Forget your father’s house and run, run with Me
You were made for abandonment, wholeheartedness
You were made for someone greater, someone bigger, so follow Me
And You’ll come alive when you learn to die

Give Me Jesus

my favorite song,
is Give Me Jesus.

"In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus, give me Jesus
You can have all this world
But give me Jesus

And when I am alone
Oh and when I am alone
And when I am alone
Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus, give me Jesus
You can have all this world
But give me Jesus

And when I come to die
Oh and when I come to die
And when I come to die
Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus, give me Jesus
You can have all this world
You can have all this world
You can have all this world
But give me Jesus"

It makes me cry.

I love to play it on guitar and sing it.

I think it is beautiful.

It has struck me in so many different ways.

It is how I want my heart to be.
It is what I want.

I can't even describe it.
What I feel, when I sing it.
This is pitiful.

But oh, how it makes me love Jesus.

Jenny & Tyler

I'm in love with Jenny & Tyler's music.
I've barely heard it.
It caught me right away.
Enveloped me.
I got goose bumps.
And felt the words and sounds and-

love.

all getting into my skin, into my heart.
